After nearly 10 years of exposure to international capital markets, I was eager to explore career opportunities in the Sri Lankan capital market.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, I got an opportunity to join Asia Securities’ Research Team to cover the Sri Lanka Conglomerate and Consumer sectors. With no prior experience in the local market, the key challenge for me was to familiarize myself with my coverage industries and companies as soon as possible.

During the first few months, the experience and support of my colleagues in the research team was invaluable in helping me understand and adjust to the local market landscape.

My day-to-day responsibilities went beyond publishing research reports. I got the opportunity to make presentations to clients regularly, and organise events under the Wealth Insights Series, where I presented research findings and moderated panel discussions featuring prominent industry figures. This no doubt has helped me grow as a person as well as develop my skills and knowledge.

My time so far at Asia Securities has been extremely rewarding. The company has provided me with a platform to showcase my skills and expand my horizons. I look forward to being an integral part of the company’s exciting growth journey.
